Journal entry, May 3, 2014

Today is a cloudy day here in metro Detroit. There is a ladies’ conference at the RenCen, and the heart association walk at Ford Field. It’s graduation season once again. My cousin is graduating soon, so I sent her a card from my dad and I. Congrats to all graduates. May God bless you in the years to come and in your future careers. Wayne State had their graduation ceremony this past Thursday, and I saw on Instagram that U of Michigan and High Point U are graduating today.
More soon,
Lauren

tiny-librarian:

On May 28th, 1934, the Dionne Quintuplets were born near the village of Corbeil, outside of Callander, Ontario.

The five identical girls, born two months premature to Elzire and Oliva Dionne, were the first quintuplets known to survive infancy. Shortly after their birth, they were made “Wards of the King”, supposedly for their own well being as the government deemed their parents unfit to care for them.

The girls became a huge tourist attraction in Ontario, living in what was called the Dafoe Hospital and Nursery, where thousands of tourists came to see them every day.

I’ve been researching the Dionne quints since 2006.
